Amsterdam
For only spending 4 days in Amsterdam, I really knocked out a ton of food spots. Disclaimer here is that I went in 2019 before the pandemic, so some of these places may have changed since then!
Rainbowls
- During the time, acai bowls were all the rage and so we wanted to start our day here since these bowls were particularly stunning. This was an order-at-the-counter spot, and nice and quick. Obviously, it was also very picture worthy.
Sushisamba
- Sushisamba actually has a ton of locations, but this was the first time I had ever heard of it and is the only location I have been to. I recently saw there is now one in Las Vegas too. I would describe this as a more colorful and fun Nobu. The sushi quality and prices reflect Nobu vibes as well. This was a great dinner spot to go with a big group and share sushi.
Foodhallen
- This is a huge food hall with a bunch of different stands, so you can eat your way through a ton of different cultures. We got “bitterballs” which are a Dutch classic - basically a fried call with all different kinds of insides: cheese, shrimp, truffle, etc.
PLUK
- This was an adorable cafe. You can order at the counter and sit down for service, or you can just grab a pastry and go. They had a ton of different decorative desserts to choose from (specifically these unicorn cupcakes).
Polaberry
- This was a super cute chocolate covered strawberry shop. This was a great afternoon snack place if you have a sweet tooth and want some decadent after a day of shopping and museums.
Bakers & Roasters
- This is a staple brunch spot in Amsterdam, and was definitely packed when we went. I went with classic eggs and toast, but added in haloumi and avocado!
The Seafood Bar
- This is the most typical and predictable name for a restaurant that sells seafood, but this was definitely an above average experience. This was a bright, sleek, and modern spot- and the quality of seafood is amazing. This is great for upscale cocktails and sashimi. This was definitely a fabulous spot that young people go out to before a night of partying.
